Uwe Schmidt-Hess

Uwe is the founder and director of ‘Patalab. Since setting up the practice in 2008, he has coordinated the design of a diverse range of projects encompassing the residential, public, office, arts and culture sectors.  He leads the design and delivery of all 'Patalab’s projects with equal attention to architecture and interior design as disciplines.

Prior to establishing 'Patalab, Uwe worked for several leading international firms including Fink+Jocher in Munich, Atrium Design in Bangkok and Make Architects in London. As well as practice, he has extensive teaching experience: he is currently a Masters unit tutor at the University of East London and has taught at Kingston University, the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL and the University of Greenwich. Uwe undertook his studies in Weimar, Oxford and London, receiving his Diploma in Architecture from Bauhaus-University in Germany and his Master of Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture.
